Systems EngineerBoyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Systems Engineer who serves as the technical integrator across mechanical, electrical, controls, firmware, software, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering disciplines. This role is responsible for defining system architectures, managing requirements, supporting product development, and ensuring CDU products meet customer, regulatory, performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements throughout the product lifecycle.The role will include:Developing and maintaining system-level architectures for liquid cooling solutions supporting AI, HPC, and hyperscale data center applicationsTranslating customer, market, and regulatory requirements into detailed engineering specificationsDefining system functionality, operating modes, interfaces, and performance requirementsAllocating requirements across mechanical, electrical, controls, firmware, and software subsystemsPerforming system trade studies to evaluate performance, cost, reliability, efficiency, and manufacturabilityLeading customer requirement reviews and developing compliance, deviation, and exemption matricesSupporting technical submittals and managing engineering changes to ensure regional and customer compliance requirements are metCapturing, managing, and maintaining customer, regulatory, and internal engineering requirements throughout the development lifecycleEstablishing requirements traceability from customer needs through validation testing and product releaseManaging configuration control and requirements changes utilizing formal engineering processesServing as the technical liaison between mechanical, electrical, controls, firmware, software, manufacturing, quality, and product management teamsSupporting engineering decision-making through data-driven analysis and technical evaluationsDeveloping system integration plans for prototype and production CDU platformsCoordinating subsystem integration activities and supporting prototype bring-up effortsIdentifying and resolving hardware, firmware, software, and interface issueLeading root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for system-level issuesDeveloping System Verification Plans (SVPs) and defining acceptance criteriaSupporting Engineering Verification Testing (EVT), Design Verification Testing (DVT), Product Validation Testing (PVT), and customer qualification activitiesReviewing validation results and ensuring products meet all system requirementsLeading system-level DFMEA activities and participating in PFMEA reviewsIdentifying technical risks and developing mitigation strategies throughout the product development lifecycleSupporting customer technical discussions, factory acceptance testing (FAT), product launches, and sustaining engineering activitiesBasic (Required) QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline5+ years of experience in systems engineering, product development, or multidisciplinary engineering environmentsEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-duty military candidates are exempt from this requirement.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering disciplineExperience developing liquid cooling systems for AI, HPC, hyperscale, or enterprise data center applicationsExperience with Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), liquid cooling loops, or thermal management systemsFamiliarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and toolsUnderstanding of reliability engineering principles, DFMEA, and PFMEA processesFamiliarity with IEC, UL, CE, CSA, and other applicable industry standardsExperience with industrial automation systems, PLC-controlled equipment,Experience with systems engineering methodologies, requirements management, and product lifecycle processes
