Bookeeper (Accounting/Finance)

Bookkeeper OpportunityThe Specialized Recruiting Group of Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a busy client in the Ithaca and Cortland area for a long term assignment. Position requires previous experience in either accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, payroll and strong customer service skills. Must be proficient in Excel. Most work is done in QuickBooks so must be proficient in that software.Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts ReceivableReconcile vendor statements and customer accountsProcess invoices, payments, and collections accurately and timelyHandle the collections processMaintain general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end closingsHandle bank reconciliations and monitor cash flowMaintain organized records and ensure compliance with accounting standardsQualifications:3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a distribution or inventory-based environmentStrong proficiency in QuickBooks requiredSolid understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principlesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesStrong Excel skills and comfort with data entry and reportingCustomer service attitudeOur Specialized Recruiting Group division of Express Employment Professionals primarily places Human Resources, IT, Accounting/Finance, and Engineering talent in the Ithaca and Cortland areas.
