Advanced Practice Nurse for Immediate Care

Join our innovative 24-bed Intermediate and Acute Care unit specializing in Liver Transplant and Transplant Hepatology patients with complex care needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Clinician to provide advanced clinical expertise, lead quality initiatives, and support professional development within a highly specialized and collaborative environment.

Brand-new 24-bed unit with Intermediate and Acute Care beds

Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 and 1:4 based on patient acuity

24/7 in-house provider coverage for continuous clinical support

Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for complex patients

Serve as a clinical leader, educator, and mentor for nursing staff

Lead program development, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire

Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment

Current RN Licensure in Virginia

5 years nursing experience required

Academic health care experience

Education/Training REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program at the time of application and must be complete within 36 months of hire.

Education/Training PREFERRED

Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field. If the master’s degree is not in Nursing, then it is required to have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

Has full authority and accountability for direction and leadership of program planning, guideline development, setting of practice standards within the confines of the organization/division/unit’s mission, goals and objectives.

Manages human, fiscal and other resources to ensure quality programs/processes/services with measurable positive outcomes.

Negotiable with immediate supervisor in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.

Will generally work day shift, but may require flexibility for special projects or to meet organization and staff needs.
