Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in South Carolina, requiring 4 years of experience and active Epic proficiency.
Details
Acute care hospital setting with 119 staffed beds
PACU assignment covering Phase I and Phase II Recovery
Patient ratio of 1:2
Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
Weekend requirement varies based on staffing needs, typically every 5th weekend with potential for every 3rd or 4th weekend
On-call required once per week plus one late shift per week
Floating within scope to meet facility needs or to like units/sister facilities is required
Charting system: Epic (required)
Surgery cases include ENT, general, GYN, ortho, total joints, urology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, and pediatrics
Clinical skills include procedural sedation administration/monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and care of pediatric patients
Scrubs are provided by the facility
Free parking available on campus
Requirements
Active SC or Compact/Multi-State RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application or confirmed ability to complete the SC walk-through process
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Minimum of 4 years of PACU RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
SSN required for consideration
Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
Candidates who were previously employed (including PRN) at the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO submitted after that point will not be accepted
During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors — including travelers — may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
Block scheduling may be accommodated upon manager approval depending on unit needs
