Travel RN - GI/Endoscopy

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring scrub experience and active Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Work setting includes inpatient and outpatient endoscopy, portable/bedside travel cases, and pre/post procedure areas,
• Patient population spans neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics,
• Schedule options: 5x8-hour days (7A-3P) or 4x10-hour days (7A-5P),
• On-call rotation includes 4 weeknights per 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend,
• One holiday worked or on-call required per 13-week contract,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, esophageal varices and banding, circulating, and scrubbing,
• Equipment used includes balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, polyp snares, and foreign body equipment,
• Responsibilities include airway management, recovery from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care (MAC),

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia state RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Scrub experience in endoscopy required,
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required,
• Proficiency in specimen handling/labeling, 12-lead ECG acquisition, and IV insertion and maintenance required,
• Experience with monitoring and assessments including lab values, isolation protocols, malignant hyperthermia, pain management, PCA, and RASS required,
• Driver's license and SSN card required for consideration,

• The facility is a 703-bed acute care Magnet-designated teaching hospital and the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adults and pediatrics,
• Hospital is affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center,
