Title: Care Coordination Intern - Georgetown/Williamson County Internship Status: Part-Time | Unpaid Location: Hybrid: Local Office/Remote Summary: The Care Coordination Intern will work alongside Care Coordinators to support the response and coordination of services for youth identified as victims of human trafficking. The intern will assist in program implementation, administrative tasks, data entry, and professional communication with partner agencies. This role provides hands‑on education and experience in interagency collaboration, trauma‑informed practices, and systems‑level coordination. Availability: Determined in alignment with the intern’s academic requirements, school‑related goals, and Unbound Now's work hours and needs. Working Conditions: Work will be conducted in a professional office setting or remotely with field visits to meetings, partner agencies, and community training sites. Travel: This position requires local travel for meetings and coordinated trainings. Requirements Completion of all required background and child abuse registry checks. High level of emotional maturity, professionalism, and reliability. Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Willingness to learn trauma‑informed, survivor‑centered, and culturally competent practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with state and federal law and Unbound Now’s policies. Commitment to Unbound Now’s mission, vision, and values. Ability to collaborate with diverse community partners (law enforcement, DFPS, advocacy, CACs, medical, etc.). Participate in ongoing training, including pre‑service orientation and Care Coordination protocols. Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle or other ability to travel locally as needed. Abide by all Unbound Now Policies and procedures, including Unbound Now’s Abuse Prevention and Response Policy. Objectives & Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Care Coordinator or Program Director, the intern will: Assist Care Coordinators in responding to referrals from law enforcement, DFPS, CACs, juvenile justice, and advocacy partners. Observe and help with Rapid Response Meetings (both crisis and non‑crisis), taking notes, documenting key points, and preparing case files. Support with Service Status Meetings (SSMs) by helping draft notes, tracking follow‑ups, and monitoring next steps. Research and update community resources relevant to survivor care (housing, medical, legal, counseling, etc.). Support the expansion of a Missing Youth Initiative across the Care Coordination program. Assist in gathering data on missing/re‑recovered youth cases and identifying trends. Help prepare Missing Status Meeting (SSM‑M) materials and notes, ensuring timely follow‑up on recovery planning. Collaborate with Care Coordinators to document best practices and create resource materials for expanding the initiative. Participate in research and program development efforts aimed at strengthening proactive responses to missing youth. Assist with data entry and documentation in Salesforce, county trackers, and case files. Help prepare agendas, meeting notes, and follow‑up communications for Care Coordination Team (CCT) and Advisory Council meetings. Support the maintenance of consents, confidentiality agreements, and records. Assist in preparing materials for Advisory Council meetings and community trainings. Help with partner outreach and communication to strengthen inter‑agency collaboration. Participate in program projects, research, and awareness initiatives. Observe the coordination process in both crisis and non‑crisis responses to gain hands‑on experience. Attend weekly supervision and Care Coordination team meetings. Participate in professional development opportunities such as training on CSE‑IT, trauma‑informed care, interagency protocols, and care coordination training. *This position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the intern candidate. Participate in weekly supervision to discuss growth, challenges, and ethical dilemmas. Maintain confidentiality at all times during and after the internship. Arrive on time for shifts, meetings, and trainings. Engage with professionalism and cultural competency when interacting with partners. Commit to at least one in‑person supervision meeting weekly. Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn in a dynamic, multi‑agency environment. Show initiative in supporting a Missing Youth Initiative, including data tracking, documentation, and project support. Expectations of Unbound Now Provide opportunities to observe and participate in Care Coordination processes, including crisis and non‑crisis responses, Rapid Response Meetings, and Service Status Meetings. Offer exposure to the Missing Youth Initiative, allowing interns to support research, data analysis, documentation, and program expansion efforts. Provide weekly supervision to discuss professional development, skill‑building, and ethical considerations. Supply timely feedback for academic assignments and evaluations related to the internship. Ensure opportunities for continued education through trainings, conferences, and focus groups. Model trauma‑informed, survivor‑centered, and culturally competent practices. Offer meaningful opportunities for interns to develop skills in collaboration with community partners, including law enforcement, DFPS, CACs, advocacy agencies, medical and mental health providers, and others. Support the intern’s learning by integrating them into staff meetings, case staffings, and Advisory Council activities. Provide supervision and oversight for all intern responsibilities, ensuring tasks are appropriate to the intern’s role and skill level. Will the intern be paid? Yes ___ No X Physical and Driving Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and be able to operate a personal vehicle as needed for intern‑related travel. Ability to travel locally for meetings, trainings, or supervision as required. Must be able to sit for extended periods for documentation and administrative tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25–30 pounds (e.g., program supplies, training materials). Frequent need for attention to detail and sustained periods of mental focus. Internship Relationships Supervisor: Care Coordination Program Director/Care Coordinator Works with: Care Coordinators, Survivor Advocacy team, and partner agency staff (law enforcement, DFPS, CACs, juvenile justice, medical providers, schools, shelters, and other community service organizations). Supervises: None Unbound Now is not obligated to offer full‑time employment to an intern at any point before or after the internship period.
