Shift: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Day Shift - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties in the Operating Room. Receives and relays information pertinent to patient care, ensures cleanliness of the O.R. desk and hallway area, completes the OR posting form and communicates this information with appropriate personnel, and maintains par levels of clerical supplies.

Education: High school diploma or educational equivalent.

Work Experience:

Work requires knowledge of O.R. procedures and policies, along with the ability to coordinate O.R. scheduling information, as acquired during 1-3 months of related experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of computer keyboard functions and demonstrated ability to utilize mainframe and PC programs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Requires analytical ability necessary to handle routine, non-complex administrative details.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously and to exchange and relay information with a diverse group of internal and external callers and visitors.
• Ability to perform as part of the team and to maintain individual accountability.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and demonstrate initiative.
• Ability to utilize universal safety precautions.
• Ability to demonstrate professional phone etiquette and the ability to document clearly and legibly.
• Ability to identify an emergency and to follow established protocol in reporting the emergency.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.37/hour - Maximum 28.68/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
