Sr. Quality Engineer 3

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr. Quality Engineer 3. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Representative duties and tasks include designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment, and finished products are also designed. Analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary is performed. Documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements are reviewed. Defects are compared against standards and recommendations for dispositions are made, and verification of rework implementation is conducted. Project data is collected, organized, and analyzed, metrics are generated and/or reviewed, and audits are performed. Corrective actions are assigned and verified, and participation in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews and technical peer reviews is required. Compliance to defined requirements is verified, test activities are witnessed or monitored, and instructions from the immediate supervisor are received. Contact with multiple work groups, various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel is made. Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments is required. Work is performed as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects and as an active member of the project team. Interfaces with customer representatives and provides resolution to problems of moderate scope. Travel and security clearance may be required.

Very solid knowledge of engineering methodologies, tools, and standards, ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, ISO 14001, ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc., Microsoft Office applications, written and verbal communications skills, ability to think creatively, ability to multi-task, skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions, ability to recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices, knowledge of interpretation of drawings, skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques, skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally, interpersonal skills, use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques, computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools, and identification of opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation are required.

This position is fully on-site. While on-site, you will be a part of the Bloomington, MN facility.

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined salary range: USD $89,505.00 - USD $99,295.00 /Yr.
