Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr. Quality Engineer 3. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Representative duties and tasks include designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment, and finished products are also designed. Analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary is performed. Documents/drawings/instructions are reviewed for conformance to requirements. Defects are compared against standards and dispositions are recommended and verified. Project data is collected, organized, and analyzed, metrics are generated and/or reviewed, and audits are performed. Corrective actions are assigned and verified. Project reviews and meetings are participated in, including technical design reviews and technical peer reviews. Compliance to defined requirements is verified. Test activities are witnessed or monitored. Instructions are received from the immediate supervisor. Contact with multiple work groups is made. Interfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel are established. Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments is made. Works as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects and participates as an active member of the project team. Interfaces with customer representatives and provides resolution to problems of moderate scope. Travel may be required. Security clearance may be required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include very solid knowledge of engineering methodologies, tools, and standards, very solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc., very solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, very solid written and verbal communications skills, ability to think creatively, ability to multi-task, very solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions, very solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices, very solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings, very solid skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques, very solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally, very solid interpersonal skills, very solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques, very solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools. Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

This position is fully on-site. While on-site, you will be a part of the Bloomington, MN facility.

Salary range: USD $89,505.00 - USD $99,295.00/Yr.
