Description
Acute Medical Staffing is urgently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contract assignment in Abilene, Texas.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced LPN looking for consistent contract hours in an acute rehabilitation setting.

Location: Abilene, TX 79606
Setting: Acute Rehabilitation
Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM -7:30 AM
Shift Length: 12 hours with scheduled meal break
Approximately 23 shifts available
Pay Rate: $40.00/hour
Employment Type: Contract / Temporary
Start: ASAP
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in an acute rehabilitation setting
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to care
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Assist with patient care planning and implementation
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the RN and interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Follow facility policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Texas LPN/LVN license or applicable compact eligibility
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar clinical experience preferred
- Current physical and required health screenings
- Ability to pass required background and credentialing requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Availability for the duration of the contract preferred
