Licensed Sheet Metal Mechanic – $25–$45/Hour
Location: Allentown, PA
Pay: $25–$45 per hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
We are immediately seeking an experienced, licensed Sheet Metal Mechanic for a full-time, permanent position with a growing mechanical contractor in the Allentown area.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and HVAC ductwork. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for competitive pay, steady work, and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and fittings
- Install HVAC duct systems according to plans and specifications
- Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and mechanical plans
- Install hangers, supports, dampers, insulation, and related components
- Inspect completed work for proper fit, airflow, and code compliance
- Troubleshoot and repair existing ductwork and sheet metal systems
- Follow OSHA requirements and established jobsite safety procedures
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, foremen, and other trades
- Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area
Qualifications
- Valid sheet metal or applicable mechanical trade license required
- Previous professional sheet metal or HVAC ductwork experience
- Strong fabrication and installation skills
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of sheet metal tools, equipment, and installation practices
- Understanding of applicable building codes and safety standards
- Ability to measure accurately and perform basic trade calculations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift materials and work from ladders or elevated platforms
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or with a team
Compensation
- $25–$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
