Quality Control Specialist - 3rd Shift

Position Overview The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for performing quality inspections and managing quality of work for the print and inserting departments. The position handles mail that must meet specific USPS and Zelis production standards, maintaining high quality work in a high‑volume environment. It includes inspections and support for multiple machines, managing all spoiled pieces with 100% accuracy and completing paperwork according to standard operating processes. What You’ll Do Inspects finished products to meet production standards before they’re shipped to customers. Manually handles documents after inspection and prepares them for induction to the mail stream. Maintains strong attention to detail and manages time to complete tasks in a timely manner, meeting strict deadlines. Conducts hourly QC checks of statements and die‑cut ID cards, monitoring quality. Follows directions and instructions of the Production Supervisor. Accurately follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job. Follows established HIPAA, compliance and security policies, and department policies and procedures. Troubleshoots and assists with issues related to quality in various production departments. Demonstrates strong work ethic, interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment to meet departmental goals. Performs other duties as assigned by management. What You’ll Bring to Zelis High School diploma or equivalent GED required (or equivalent experience). 2–3 years of experience in a production print environment preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic computer skills (data entry, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude preferred. Physical Factors & Requirements Frequent bending and stooping. Push/pull heavy rolls. Stand for long periods of time. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from work. Use of standard office equipment. Ability to maintain good attendance.
