Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Opportunity
A growing pediatric therapy practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico is seeking compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows (CFs) to join its collaborative team. The practice provides comprehensive Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy services to children from infancy through adolescence in a supportive, clinic-based environment.
This opportunity is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about pediatric therapy, value family-centered care, and enjoy working with children with a wide variety of communication and feeding needs. Comprehensive mentorship and professional support are available for Clinical Fellows.
Patient Population
Children from birth through adolescence with a broad range of diagnoses and developmental needs, including:
- Speech and Language Disorders
- Articulation Disorders
- Phonological Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Users
- Feeding and Swallowing Challenges
- Social-Pragmatic Communication Deficits
- Developmental Delays
- Early Intervention Needs
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, fluency, feeding, and swallowing skills using standardized assessments and clinical observations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's strengths, needs, and developmental goals.
- Provide engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions in a pediatric outpatient setting.
- Implement early intervention strategies to support communication development.
- Deliver treatment targeting speech production, language development, social communication, AAC implementation, and feeding concerns.
- Educate and coach families and caregivers on strategies to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, physicians, educators, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and outcome measures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and ongoing professional development activities.
- Clinical Fellows will receive structured mentorship and supervision to support successful completion of fellowship requirements.
Qualifications
For Licensed SLPs:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure.
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or eligibility if relocating.
For Clinical Fellows:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Eligible for New Mexico licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Eligible to begin and complete the ASHA Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current New Mexico Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for state licensure required.
- Eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates welcome to apply.
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred, with the ability to provide family-centered care to children from infancy through adolescence.
- Knowledge and experience treating a wide range of pediatric diagnoses, including speech and language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, social-pragmatic deficits, feeding challenges, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users.
- Strong skills in conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary team members.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a clinic-based setting and adapt to flexible scheduling needs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage caseload responsibilities efficiently.
