About the Role

We are seeking a Global Buyer – MRO Supplies & Services to support a large-scale industrial manufacturing organization.

This role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement execution across MRO categories including spare parts, consumables, tools, safety equipment, and maintenance services.

The position works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, and EHS teams to ensure supply continuity, support plant uptime, and drive cost optimization initiatives across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

MRO Sourcing & Category Management

• Lead sourcing and procurement of MRO categories including spare parts, PPE, tools, consumables, and maintenance services
• Develop and execute category strategies to optimize cost, service levels, and supply continuity
• Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers; negotiate contracts and commercial terms

Supplier & Performance Management

• Manage supplier relationships and drive performance across cost, delivery, and quality metrics
• Conduct supplier reviews, audits, and corrective action initiatives
• Monitor market conditions and supplier risks to ensure supply continuity

Operations & Plant Support

• Partner with plant teams to support maintenance needs, uptime, and operational performance
• Support sourcing of repair, calibration, and contractor services
• Resolve supply disruptions and lead recovery efforts

Inventory & Cost Optimization

• Collaborate with maintenance and stores teams to optimize MRO inventory strategies
• Support critical spare parts planning, VMI, and consignment programs
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and SKU/supplier rationalization initiatives

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Improve procurement processes and Req-to-PO cycle efficiency
• Partner with Finance and Operations on budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis
• Support audits, compliance, and supplier qualification processes

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of sourcing or procurement experience
• Strong experience with MRO categories in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Proven experience in:
• supplier negotiation
• contract management
• cost savings initiatives
• Experience supporting plant operations or maintenance teams preferred

Systems

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Familiarity with inventory and procurement systems
