General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator

We are seeking a General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department and support our mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

In this role, you will function as a clinical leader and coordinator on our general medicine unit, working closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure that every patient receives safe, timely, and evidence-based nursing care. You will coordinate daily patient care activities, support bedside nurses in managing complex cases, and serve as a central resource for clinical decision-making, patient education, and care planning. Your ability to synthesize clinical information, anticipate patient needs, and facilitate communication among providers, patients, and families will be critical to the success of this role.

As the General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will help oversee patient flow on the unit, including admissions, discharges, and transfers, and collaborate with charge nurses and leadership to align staffing and resources with patient acuity. You will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences, promoting a collaborative, team-based approach that reflects Mission Health’s emphasis on teamwork, respect, and professional growth. You will ensure that care plans are clearly communicated, updated, and carried out, and that transitions of care are safe and well-coordinated.

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical practice, including accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adherence to medication safety and infection prevention protocols, and compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. You will support quality and safety initiatives by identifying trends, escalating concerns, and engaging staff in performance improvement efforts aimed at enhancing outcomes and the patient experience.
