Job Description The Study Project Manager I drives the connection between science and operational delivery and ensures operational excellence in planning and execution of clinical research studies across all development stages. The Study Project Manager I is responsible for ensuring clinical research studies are executed with quality and efficiency, on‑time, within budget, and meet company objectives. The role requires scientific acumen, strategic thinking, innovation, experience in clinical study operations management, and stakeholder management to address risks and challenges. The Study Project Manager I serves as a leader of one or more cross‑functional clinical study teams, leading clinical operations from planning through to execution in a cross‑functional matrix environment. Responsibilities Define and drive operational strategies and deliverables for one or more clinical studies. Execute clinical studies in compliance with quality standards (ICH/GCP, Global Regulations, AbbVie policies and procedures). Proactively manage budget, timelines and study issues, and drive achievement of study objectives. Lead a cross‑functional clinical study team. Plan clinical operations through execution within a cross‑functional matrix environment. Influence cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve milestones. Effectively manage vendors and external stakeholders including site staff, Key Opinion Leaders, and patient groups. Demonstrate a growth mindset and willingness to continuously learn and adapt. Coach and support cross‑functional team members, delegate and empower appropriately. Contribute to operational efficiencies and bring innovative ideas to teams and studies. Exhibit excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Put patients and customers at the center of all activities. Navigating ambiguity and thriving with limited information. Develop the clinical study design and associated systems, tools and documents. Create and oversee study budget. Select and scope external vendors and oversee vendor management. Proactively identify risks and address or mitigate study‑related issues and opportunities for efficiency. Make empowered decisions on operational aspects of study execution. Create an inclusive and innovative environment where staff and programs succeed. Lead, delegate and support Study Management Associates to deliver on study milestones. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Minimum six years of pharma‑related or clinical research experience. Preferred: experience in study initiation to completion across Phase 1‑4 and/or medical device trials. Hybrid work model: three days per week at the Madrid office (Tuesday and Thursday).
