Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Provides specialized emergency nursing care to patients in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the Emergency Department. Performs comprehensive assessments, critical interventions, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and reassess patients upon arrival and throughout their stay, prioritizing care based on acuity.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans aligned with standards of practice and protocols.
• Administer medications, including vasoactive and intravenous therapies, accurately and safely, monitoring patient responses.
• Recognize abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results, notifying physicians promptly to facilitate appropriate interventions.
• Document all patient care activities, assessments, and responses thoroughly and timely, ensuring continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and coping strategies, considering learning needs and barriers.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state.
• Have 3-5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.
• Possess current ACLS certification; BLS required, AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
• Demonstrate proficiency in triage, trauma assessment, airway management, and emergency protocols.
• Be able to recognize and respond to critical arrhythmias and implement vital emergency procedures.
• Preferably hold certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or CEN.
