Software Development Engineer In Test (Sdet Ii)Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)Duration: Long-Term Contract (1 Year)Overview: We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET II) to join a high-performing engineering team focused on modern web applications, APIs, and emerging AI-powered solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on automation engineer who enjoys building and enhancing test frameworks, validating complex systems, and collaborating closely with developers to ensure high-quality software delivery.The successful candidate will have strong Python automation skills, experience testing web and API-based applications, and a passion for continuous learning in rapidly evolving technologies.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and execute automated test solutions for web applications, APIs, and backend servicesBuild, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks using Python and modern testing toolsDevelop and execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing strategiesValidate APIs, microservices, and data flows across complex application environmentsWork with structured and unstructured data sources to validate application functionality and data integrityCollaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and QA professionals throughout the SDLCParticipate in Agile ceremonies, requirement reviews, and test planning activitiesSupport CI/CD processes and help integrate automated testing into release pipelinesCreate test plans, test cases, test data, and quality metricsTroubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and communicate quality risks effectivelyContribute to quality engineering efforts involving modern AI-enabled applications and intelligent workflowsRequired Qualifications:8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET rolesStrong hands-on experience with Python development and test automationExperience with PyTest and object-oriented programming principlesExperience building and maintaining automation frameworksExperience testing REST APIs and microservicesExperience with UI automation tools such as Playwright or SeleniumExperience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologiesExperience working within Agile development environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience validating AI-powered or Generative AI applicationsFamiliarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and related technologiesUnderstanding of prompt validation, response evaluation, and AI quality testing conceptsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWSExperience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, or similar technologiesExperience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, or CloudWatchWhat We're Looking For:A true hands-on automation engineer who enjoys coding and framework developmentSomeone who can quickly understand complex systems and work independentlyStrong attention to detail and commitment to software qualityA collaborative team player with a growth mindset and willingness to learn new technologiesAn engineer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and helping drive quality across both traditional and emerging technologiesEEO Employer
