Strategic Planning Consultant – Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) Oregon Environmental Council is seeking a qualified consultant to lead a comprehensive, inclusive strategic planning process that will inform the organization’s work through 2030. Responsibilities Conduct a pre‑meeting with the Strategic Planning Committee and Executive Director to clarify expectations and desired outcomes. Review all relevant documents provided by the Board and Executive Director, including the current Strategic Plan, the OEC Charter, and the organization’s values and beliefs. Develop and facilitate engagement activities—surveys, focus groups, 1:1 interviews—to gather insight from Board members, staff, donors, partners, and the public. Coordinate with the communication team on all related event notifications. Document findings from meetings and present preliminary direction to the Strategic Planning Committee. Develop a draft Strategic Plan and submit it no later than November 1 2026. Present the completed final report at the OEC Board meeting in December 2026. Facilitate the development of elements of a Theory of Change. Eligibility & Qualifications Proven experience developing long‑term strategic plans for environmental, policy, or statewide organizations. Experience coordinating inclusive engagement processes for diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to integrate Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) principles into strategic planning and governance structures. Strong facilitation, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the Strategic Planning Committee, Board, staff, and community stakeholders.
