OakLeaf Clinics - Southside Medical Clinic is currently seeking a full-time Family Medicine or dual board-certified Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician to join our growing primary care practice! Our clinic is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care for patients across the lifespan. This position will require collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional care and positive patient outcomes.

OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley and surrounding areas.

Position description

The Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness and injury. This role involves evaluating patient health, developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The Physician utilizes clinical expertise, evidence-based practices, and sound medical judgment in all aspects of care.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations
• Diagnose illnesses and conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with best practices and regulations
• Stay current with the latest evidence-based medical practices and clinical guidelines
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and procedures
• Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to patients and families
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and other clinical staff as applicable
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all patient interactions
• Respond to and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards
• Effectively communicate with diverse populations, including patients, families, physicians, and staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational goals
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program in relevant specialty
• Board certification or board eligibility in applicable specialty
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association, if applicable
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association, if applicable
• Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation systems
• Strong understanding of federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and decision-making
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
• Knowledge of disease prevention

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic and hospital setting.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Major activities of this job include frequent walking, standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. Some carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting are involved in the medical office. Use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility and good vision that includes near acuity, depth perception and accommodation are physical requirements necessary for technical work.
