Job Summary

Provides comprehensive academic advising and student support services for programs within the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom. This role ensures that students receive individualized guidance to support academic success, timely graduation, and engagement with the Center's initiatives. The Academic Advisor works closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to enhance student experiences and promote retention, career readiness, and program participation.

• Utilizes university systems and technology to manage a caseload of advisees, supporting student success, retention, and timely graduation. Provides academic advising and guidance to prospective and current students, including those considering participation in Adam Smith Center programs.
• Develops and monitors academic plans to ensure alignment with degree requirements and student goals. Responds to student inquiries, messages, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Educates students on University policies and procedures, including academic requirements, registration, and graduation criteria. Connects students with University resources and technological tools, including career services, academic support services, and student success platforms.
• Promotes student engagement by informing students of Adam Smith Center programs, events, research opportunities, internships, and experiential learning initiatives. Conducts targeted outreach efforts to support student retention and engagement.
• Serves as a student advocate by identifying barriers to success and referring students to appropriate University resources. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and external partners to remain informed of program opportunities and enhance student engagement.
• Participates in recruitment and outreach events, including on-campus and off-campus activities, to support program growth. Engages in professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge of advising practices and University systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
