Reports To: Senior Engineer / Manufacturing Manager
Schedule: 1st Shift and 2nd Shift Opportunities Available
Pay Range: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour , based on experience, skills, and qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Engineering Technician to support engineering and manufacturing operations in our Erie, PA facility. This role serves as a critical link between Engineering and Production, helping to resolve process and equipment issues, improve manufacturing performance, and support New Product Introduction (NPI) and process development activities.

The Senior Engineering Technician will plan and execute engineering experiments, collect and analyze data, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, monitor compliance with process specifications, and provide technical support to production teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with practical manufacturing experience and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, execute, and document engineering tests and experiments as directed by Engineering or Manufacturing leadership.
• Operate production equipment and manufacturing systems to support engineering development, process validation, and production improvement initiatives.
• Collect, analyze, summarize, and communicate test and process data to engineering and management teams.
• Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing, process, equipment, and product-related issues with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established process specifications and quality requirements.
• Perform detailed inspections using microscopes, magnifiers, and other precision inspection tools.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, process specifications, work instructions, procedural updates, and engineering memorandums.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including product transfers, qualifications, process setup, and validation testing.
• Recommend process improvements to increase quality, productivity, efficiency, and reliability.
• Assist with training production personnel on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of testing, process performance, and engineering activities.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and waste when required.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 12+ years of relevant manufacturing or engineering technician experience; OR
• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field and 8+ years of manufacturing experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, medical device, defense, or industrial production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Experience supporting engineering projects, process improvement initiatives, and production operations.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, specifications, schematics, drawings, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
• Experience with process development, process validation, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, process controls, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or testing environments.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and problem-solving tools.
• Experience using laboratory and production testing equipment.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of electrical principles, electronics, and circuit fundamentals.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, operate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to use or quickly learn laboratory measurement and testing equipment.
• Experience training operators and technicians on equipment and process operation.
• Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and engineering-related software tools.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose manufacturing, process, and equipment issues in a production setting.

Knowledge & Competencies

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and quality standards.
• Ability to read and understand technical reports, engineering specifications, office correspondence, and procedural documentation.
• Ability to write clear, concise technical reports, procedures, and work instructions.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, operators, and leadership teams.
