Traffic Assistant

Location: Lancaster, PA

Shift: 1st Shift 6 AM - 5:00 PM

Duration: 0 06 Month

Pay: $25.00/Hour

Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Verify dock doors and trailer readiness to ensure empty trailers are available for loading; coordinate with jockeys as needed.
• Receive shift pass-downs from the previous shift to maintain continuity and smooth transitions.
• Review load lineup with the next shift's Traffic Assistant and communicate all required load details.
• Support the Warehouse Traffic Supervisor in starting the shift efficiently.
• Print, distribute, and obtain signatures on outgoing Bills of Lading (BOLs) for drivers.
• Reconcile SAP and yard reports with the guard's yard check to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor staging bays and assign loads to loaders to maintain efficient outbound flow.
• Finalize completed orders, including documentation, signed BOLs, and shipment history reports.
• Provide detailed pass-downs to the next shift to ensure seamless operations.
• Coordinate with drivers, loaders, and jockeys to align activities and maintain workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Understanding of warehouse traffic flow, including inbound/outbound operations and shift transitions.
• Knowledge of BOL documentation procedures, including printing, processing, and record maintenance.
• Familiarity with SAP and yard management systems, including reporting and verification processes.
• Strong communication skills for effective shift handovers and cross-functional coordination.
• High attention to detail for verifying trailer status and ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills to manage staging bays, load assignments, and order completion.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Associate's degree or higher (preferred).
• Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working with logistics processes and corporate SOPs is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work both day and night shifts as required.
• Assignment may be extended based on performance.
