Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation.
• Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures.
• Ensures that proper food temperatures are maintained.
• Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains.
• Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of products.
• Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware.
• Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
• Adhere to company guidelines for appearance and uniform standards.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. • High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary training preferred
• Must have two (2) to three (3) years working in a fast-paced high-end club, or restaurant
• Must be able to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays

• Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; creates and builds positive and productive relationships
• Responds quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances; embraces change and welcomes new perspectives; learns from past mistakes and adjusts accordingly
• Proficiency in advanced cooking methods and techniques.
• Mastery of knife handling and knife maintenance.
• Understanding of different ingredients, their uses, and seasonal availability.
• Ability to create balanced and harmonious flavor profiles
• Can manage people and resources to get projects completed; has a strong ability to multi-task and keep order.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish
