RN - House Supervisor

This is a 13-week contract position with evening shifts consisting of three 8.5-hour shifts and a 1-hour lunch break. Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Registered Nurse Manager to oversee a 45-bed psychiatric unit. The ideal candidate will possess both psychiatric and medical-surgical nursing experience, and will be skilled in managing patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage patient care for individuals with severe mental health issues, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Coordinate nursing staff assignments and ensure appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios. Administer IM injections and PO medications; manage psychotropic medications. Oversee the use of de-escalation techniques and restraints. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote staff engagement. Assist in performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance programs. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience; preference for candidates with medical experience (MS, MS-Tele, PCU, ICU). Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; CPI certification preferred (training available). Strong communication skills for relationship management are a must. Ability to manage challenging behaviors and implement effective de-escalation techniques. Experience with psychotropic medications is essential. Why ARMStaffing?
