Buyer Planner

About the Role We’re seeking a Buyer Planner to lead strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships that drive efficiency, reduce risk, and deliver value for customers. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll influence global procurement strategies and work directly with cross‑functional teams to implement cost‑saving initiatives. Location Wood Dale, IL (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite) Reports to Global Procurement Director What You’ll Do Manage material spend of $15M–$25M, ensuring cost optimization and supply continuity. Develop and negotiate supplier contracts that minimize total cost of ownership and improve quality. Lead PPV/VAVE projects and cross‑functional workshops to identify savings opportunities. Drive working capital improvements through inventory reduction, lead‑time optimization, and innovative solutions such as consignment and 3PL. Conduct RFQs, analyze quotes, and perform cost breakdowns to secure best commercial terms. Support manufacturing sites with supplier performance issues related to quality and delivery. Deliver measurable results aligned with KPIs and strategic goals. This position is also eligible for bonus pay.
