ONSITE Traffic Monitoring Operator/Call Center - Indianapolis, IN Full-time State/Province: Indiana Business Group: DCS Legal Entity: AECOM Field Services LLC Business Line: Transportation Work Location Model: On-Site Primary Location: US- Indianapolis, IN - 8620 East 21s Compensation: up to USD 21 per hour NOT A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY. This position is a full-time, career path role in operations and customer service within a fast‑paced, technology‑driven work environment. Responsibilities Disseminate incident information verbally and electronically to INDOT’s Hoosier Helper Freeway Service Patrol. Monitor CCTV traffic cameras, radio communications, and other data sources; identify and respond to incidents, transporting associated information to INDOT personnel and emergency responders using 10 codes. Maintain quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all information disseminated. Coordinate incident and road blocking information with Indiana State Police, INDOT maintenance and district staff, and other emergency responders. Display traveler information messages on dynamic message boards (DMS) and update any ongoing incident details, backup/traffic delays, and estimated clearance times. Enter incident, construction, and maintenance data into INDOT’s Global Events Manager (GEM) and CARS database; review all events and traveler information for accuracy. Analyze real‑time data from sensors, CCTV, and other sources to detect possible roadway incidents. Manage communications with incident responders, DOT personnel, and other agencies throughout the assessment and dissemination process. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Successful completion of State and Federal criminal history/security background check. Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen. Ability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts. Continuous operation of computers and monitoring equipment. Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods while monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems (e.g., CCTV, sensors, radios). Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under intense pressure. Ability to multitask and synthesize information from multiple inputs. Knowledge of personal computers and basic software. Knowledge of or ability to learn Indiana roadways. Ability to communicate across various levels of management.
