Quality Assurance Engineer (Advanced)

Responsibilities Provide technical expertise across the program acquisition life cycle in quality, mission assurance and manufacturing to the government for assigned MDA programs Implement MDA quality and mission assurance requirements by providing subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems Implement the MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP), a standardized set of 14 QSMA provisions, requirements, and processes that apply to mission and safety‑critical items, and use this framework to measure, confirm, and validate mission success through metrics, risk assessment, technical evaluations, independent assessment, reviews, testing, and continuous process improvement Assist with review and assessment of hardware and software compliance with quality and related mission assurance requirements, including support of failure investigations, failure review boards, evaluations, audits, and assessments; determine root cause of failures of MDA hardware Provide technical and data‑management expertise for quality and mission assurance boards, working groups, and reviews, including technical and mission reviews, pedigree reviews, first‑article inspections, and risk working groups Prepare draft documents, briefs, presentations, and action‑item responses, which may include information papers Provide weekly status reports on activities and issues of concern Travel periodically, approximately twice per quarter Work onsite at the MDA facility in Huntsville, AL, at least 2 days per week; telework from home is authorized when onsite presence is not required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in professional engineering from an ABET‑accredited school of engineering Minimum of 15 years of experience in a related field Experience supporting or running Failure Review Boards, executing the FRACAS process, and knowledge of reliability programs supporting quality and mission assurance Experience in quality and in implementing quality practices and oversight Experience assisting in the formulation of opinions and decisions for quality and mission assurance practices Experience assessing advanced systems concepts, assessing specifications, and performing system integration Security clearance: Secret Preference Statement Preference will be given to Calista shareholders and their descendants and to spouses of Calista shareholders, and to shareholders of other corporations created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, in accordance with Title 43 U.S. Code § 1626(g).
