Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Specialty in a healthcare setting. This position involves providing safe, efficient surgical assistance during cardiovascular procedures, with a focus on hybrid experiences. The role requires collaboration with health team members, maintaining sterile conditions, and ensuring proper equipment use in accordance with professional standards.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: High School Diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist educational or approved training program, and NBSTSA-Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Operating Room open heart specialty.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
• Additional Requirements: Must have cardiac/vascular and hybrid experience. Must have Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience. Must be NBSTSA certified.
• Responsibilities: Assisting registered nurses, demonstrating asepsis protocols, performing scrubbing duties, communicating patient information, managing equipment and supplies, supporting teamwork, and maintaining a clean environment. Performs clinical preceptor duties for scrubbing and follows orientation procedures.
• Skills: Knowledge of patient care policies and procedures, safety hazards, communication skills, ability to organize tasks rapidly in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in asepsis, scrubbing, and equipment care.
• Work Environment: Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting to move patients; exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials; moderate noise levels; work under stressful conditions with deadlines; potential for weekend and holiday work, and on-call duties.
