- Apply thorough knowledge of electrical theory, principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and operating principles of electrical equipment in daily work.
- Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols, and comply with OSHA requirements.
- Identify potentially dangerous electrical equipment or conditions, promptly notify management, and take appropriate corrective action.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed, which may require night shifts and weekend work beyond regular scheduled hours.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and quality in compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Protect and ensure the confidentiality and privacy of company information encountered in the course of work.
- Read, write, and interpret maintenance manuals, technical information, sketches, diagrams, and blueprints to plan and execute work effectively.
- Use and care for tools and equipment of the electrical trade properly, ensuring they remain in safe and reliable working condition.
- Identify, locate, and adjust defects in electrical systems and equipment to restore optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members on the third shift while also working independently under general supervision to meet maintenance and production needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of three years of experience working with electrical systems in an industrial environment.
- Two years of technical education in electronics and/or five years of related electrical experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

- Computer skills, including the ability to use software tools for PLC programming and maintenance documentation.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar tools to create and interpret drawings of circuit boards and electrical systems.

Why Work Here?
You join a mission-driven manufacturing organization whose products directly support the global agriculture industry and help feed communities around the world. The culture is built on three core values—safety, quality, and service—and recognizes employees through programs such as employee of the month and team member spotlights, as well as birthday month acknowledgments. The benefits package includes competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with many employees noting low or no co-pay requirements, and a pension plan with a five-year vesting schedule. You can earn quarterly productivity bonuses based on plant performance and enjoy paid time off, including two weeks after one year of service. The facility operates under a union framework, with opportunities such as ERA participation that allow union members to opt in to certain political-use dues. There is a strong emphasis on career growth, with clear opportunities for advancement and promotion from within, and overtime is allocated based on seniority, supporting both fairness and work-life balance.
Work Environment
This role is based in a typical tire manufacturing facility that combines legacy machines dating back to the 1940s with newer automated equipment. The environment is industrial and not temperature controlled, so conditions can vary with the seasons. You work primarily on the third shift, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional night and weekend work for emergency calls. The team on third shift is small, and the position requires independent judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to work both autonomously and under general supervision. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, safety glasses, and hearing protection when on the production floor, reflecting a strong focus on safety. You will regularly interact with electrical systems up to 480 volts three-phase and with PLC-controlled machinery, including Allen-Bradley platforms, within a unionized facility that emphasizes safe, quality-driven, and service-oriented operations.
