Summary

The Distribution Center Supervisor assists in all aspects of the distribution center including controlling costs, supervising warehouse staff, loading freight, customer relations, and safety compliance.

Essential Functions

• Supervises, trains, and directs warehouse staff and warehouse operations.
• Assists in controlling warehouse costs.
• Monitors packaging and loading of freight.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervision of employees
• Shipping & Shipping Dock experience to include shipments of LTL, full truckloads, UPS and Fed-Ex Air, and export containers.
• Receiving experience to include checking products received and processing receipts
• Inventory control (daily cycle counting) & ability to research inventory issues
• Forklift experience
• Fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask
• Handles all distribution issues.
• Good communicator via phone and e-mail.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• 2 to 5 years of related experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:

Required:

• Basis Microsoft Excel, Word, and E-mail skills required
• Has the ability/judgment to solve issues directly with customers concerning matters that require tact and resourcefulness
• Demonstrates good training, supervisory, leadership, and team-building skills
• Has strong customer service skills
• Demonstrates good communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be safety-minded
• Able to identify and solve problems
• Must be cost-conscious.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and be on your feet for extended periods
• Ability to lift, move up, and carry objects of up to 75 lbs
• May be required to reach, stand, walk, use hands and wrists, or crouch for short durations of time
• Ability to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively

Work Environment

• Must be able to work in a flexible environment
• Warehouse environment
• Must be able to work in warm or cool temperatures
