Senior Investment Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Senior Accountant to support the investment accounting function within a growing family office. This individual will be responsible for tracking, reconciling, and reporting on a diverse investment portfolio, including public securities, private equity, hedge funds, and direct investments. This role will work closely with investment, tax, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting, transparency, and alignment across all investment-related financial activities. Primary Responsibilities Investment Accounting & Reporting (Core Focus) Maintain and reconcile investment activity across a diversified portfolio, including public equities, fixed income, private equity, hedge funds, and alternative investments Record and track capital calls, distributions, contributions, and investment income (dividends, interest, realized/unrealized gains) Prepare monthly and quarterly investment reporting packages for internal stakeholders and principals Track cost basis, fair value adjustments, and performance metrics across investment vehicles Reconcile custodian statements, capital account statements, and internal records Review and analyze capital account statements from external fund managers Track investor allocations, waterfall structures, and partnership activity Coordinate with fund administrators and external managers to validate financial data Assist in modeling and tracking investment performance and returns Support month-end and quarter-end close processes related to investment entities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements across multiple entities Cash & Liquidity Management Monitor cash activity related to investments, including funding of capital calls and receipt of distributions Partner with internal teams to forecast liquidity needs based on investment activity Assist in tracking commitments and unfunded obligations Tax & Audit Support Coordinate with tax advisors to provide accurate investment data for tax reporting (K-1s, 1099s, etc.) Support annual audits by preparing investment-related schedules and documentation Maintain organized records of all investment activity and supporting documentation Systems & Process Improvement Support implementation and optimization of investment tracking and reporting tools Improve processes around investment data aggregation, reconciliation, and reporting Assist in integrating investment data into broader accounting and reporting systems Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred 5+ years of experience in investment accounting, fund accounting, family office, or financial services Strong understanding of partnership accounting and investment vehicles Technical Skills Experience with investment reporting platforms, accounting systems, and Excel (advanced) Familiarity with capital account statements, waterfalls, and performance reporting Experience working with custodians, fund administrators, and external managers #J-18808-Ljbffr Segrera Associates
