Our client, a well-established private equity investment firm, is seeking a bright, ambitious Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career accounting professional (approximately 2–5 years of experience) who is eager to learn, take ownership, and build a long-term career in private equity.

Working directly with the CFO, you'll gain hands-on experience across management company accounting, fund accounting, investor reporting, tax, and audit while developing the skills needed to grow into a future Controller role.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Process accounts payable and maintain vendor relationships.
• Support fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, and capital accounts.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and requests from investors and external advisors.
• Monitor portfolio company financial performance.
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Participate in special projects as the firm continues to grow.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Approximately 2–5 years of accounting experience, or 2+ years in public accounting.
• Strong Excel and general ledger/accounting software skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

• Public accounting experience.
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA.
• Exposure to private equity or fund accounting is a plus but not required.
