VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) Machinist plays a key role in precision manufacturing especially for components used in piping systems, heat exchangers, and industrial equipment.
Heres what the job typically involves:
Core Responsibilities
- Operate VTL machines to produce high-precision metal parts based on engineering drawings
- Set up and adjust tooling and machine parameters for each job
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet dimensional specs
- Collaborate with experienced machinists on setups and troubleshooting
- Document production data and quality checks
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Fanuc controls and CNC programming preferred
- Strong understanding of geometry and machining principles
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Good communication and organizational skills
