QC Manager

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 annually DOE Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm Overview Our client is an industry-leading food manufacturing company that's leading the way in quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory compliance within the food and beverage sector. In this role, you will oversee the testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products, and ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory agency requirements. You will serve as both the SQF Practitioner and plant HACCP Coordinator, while leading a quality control team and collaborating cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in food safety and product quality. Responsibilities Hire, train, and effectively manage assigned Q.C. personnel, providing clear performance expectations, feedback, and formal performance evaluations Review quality control test results and make disposition decisions, in collaboration with other departments, for raw materials and finished products Develop ongoing procedures to utilize rework and old/obsolete materials in current production Monitor batch records for accuracy and prepare Certificate of Analysis documentation as required Maintain quality control laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring proper standardization and record keeping Maintain all records required by internal procedures and outside government agencies, including inventory of production retain samples Monitor production activities as they pertain to cGMPs, product quality, and food safety Audit labels for compliance with State and Federal regulations Train employees on cGMPs, allergens, and cleaning procedures Monitor and track effective cleaning practices of Sanitation and Production departments Work aggressively with Production and other departments to improve processes, practices, and overall quality and food safety Perform monthly GMP, Glass, and Hard Plastics Audits Work with auditors regarding audit criteria and tours/inspections of the facility Collaborate with the Technical Manager on internal audits and investigation/resolution of customer complaints related to product quality issues Work cross-functionally with other departments to review and update relevant company policies and procedures Maintain familiarity with company policies pertaining to quality control, food security, sanitation, cGMPs, HACCP/food safety, and employee supervision Serve as facility HACCP Coordinator and fulfill the responsibilities of the SQF Practitioner as needed Other duties as assigned by the Quality Director or Director of Technical Services Qualifications B.A. or B.S. degree in a science discipline required 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity within the food industry; background in flavor processing is a plus Familiarity with general lab analytical equipment and its use in testing food samples HACCP Certified or ability to achieve certification rapidly SQF Practitioner Certified or equivalent knowledge through training PCQI Certification or ability to achieve certification rapidly Must have visual acuity to evaluate sample appearance and use lab instruments Must demonstrate taste/aroma sensory acuity Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to report to any client facility as needed; primary location is the San Fernando facility As part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work- #J-18808-Ljbffr 6AM City, LLC
