Accounts Payable Supervisor

We have an outstanding Contract position for anAccounts Payable Supervisor to join a leading Company located in theGlen Allen, VAsurrounding area. Pay Rate: $30 to $45 an hour This position is responsible for directing and organizing the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team. The Supervisor establishes service levels, maintains controls, and manages risk in accordance with bank policies and procedures. This individual is responsible for identifying and assisting with implementing process improvements that support scalability and operational efficiency, while ensuring all supporting documentation, policies, and procedures remain accurate, current, and compliant. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of Accounts Payable Specialists, including timely invoice processing, payment generation, expense payment and recording general ledger activity. Process all accounts payable transactions for corporation and subsidiaries, which includes reviewing each request for authorization , correcting general ledger account numbers, cost centers, sales and use taxes and any applicable discounts. Ensure all invoices are reviewed based on control structure pre- and post-batch expense processing for all companies. Cultivate a positive working relationship with the entire department in order to identify, develop, and recommend revisions of internal standards, policies, operating procedures, and new processes to improve efficiencies, ensuring that all teammates are properly cross-trained to provide backup when needed. Assist in the hiring of all Accounts Payable Specialists. Proactively identify and assist in the implementation of process improvement opportunities. Ensure department procedures are updated and adhered to in accordance with the Enterprise Policy and Procedure Governance. Ensure the 1099 process is completed timely and accurately . Create and maintain desktop procedures for the various AP functions. Assist with internal and external audit requests. Research, analyze and resolve accounting issues involving teammate and vendor payments. Assist with onboarding new entities in the event of an acquisition or creation of a legal entity. Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Policy and Procedures. Basic Hiring Criteria: Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience. Two or more years of Accounting or Accounts Payable experience , preferably in a financial institution. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead others. Working knowledge of an automated Accounts Payable system - Concur is preferred. Advanced math and moderate accounting skills. Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. Willing to support teammates and be a team player. Flexible, able to adapt to change and learn quickly. Moderate PC skills including 10-key touch, keyboarding Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and automated accounting applications. Moderate written, oral and interpersonal communication skills necessary to provide detailed information and courteous responses to teammates and vendors. Benefits offered vary by contract.
