About the Role:

A growing financial services organization is seeking an experienced In-House Litigation Attorney to lead its dispute resolution, contract enforcement, and recovery efforts in Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 7+ years of litigation and dispute resolution experience who wants to take ownership of legal matters while working closely with business leadership.

The successful candidate will manage disputes involving customer non-payment, contract enforcement, and fee recovery through negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation. This role combines hands-on legal work with strategic decision-making, offering the opportunity to strengthen in-house legal capabilities, improve recovery outcomes, and align legal strategies with broader business objectives.

This is a full-time hybrid position suited to a commercially minded attorney who can balance legal risk, cost efficiency, and effective dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage disputes involving customer non-payment, contract enforcement, and fee recovery from initiation through resolution.
• Develop and implement dispute resolution strategies through negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and litigation.
• Draft and review demand letters, pleadings, settlement agreements, legal notices, and related documentation.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings where permitted and coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
• Negotiate settlements that maximize financial recovery while minimizing legal expenses and business risks.
• Advise internal stakeholders on litigation strategy, contract enforcement, recovery options, and potential legal exposure.
• Establish and improve internal processes for dispute escalation, collections, enforcement, and matter management.
• Monitor recovery performance, case resolution timelines, legal spending, and other key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership to support cash flow, financial recovery, and risk management objectives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce reliance on outside counsel by expanding in-house legal capabilities.
• Manage multiple disputes simultaneously while ensuring timely progress and effective resolution.
• Maintain accurate legal records, case documentation, settlement information, and reporting.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance that supports the company's operational and financial goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Georgia Bar in good standing.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in litigation, arbitration, mediation, or dispute resolution.
• Strong litigation experience, preferably involving contract disputes, non-payment, collections, or commercial enforcement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage disputes independently from initial assessment through final resolution.
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, research, and analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of dispute resolution strategies, settlement negotiations, and litigation procedures.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance legal considerations with business priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with executive and cross-functional teams.
• Experience building or scaling in-house legal or collections functions is preferred.
• Background in financial services, real estate, SaaS, fintech, or professional services is an advantage.
• Experience improving recovery outcomes while controlling legal expenses is beneficial.
• Leadership experience managing paralegals, legal operations, or junior legal staff is preferred.
