DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments. Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff. Apply academic and industry knowledge, as well as learnings from prior work experience to execute project work. Provide training, guidance and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline. Under the direction of senior staff, participate in communications with client, agencies, and internal teams within your discipline. Oversee geologic site characterization including subsurface explorations, monitoring well siting and construction, soil vapor probe installation, field sampling and waste management. Support and lead project teams with the interpretation, evaluation, and summarization of geologic data to make decisions for the project. Independently complete basic geologic data reduction, summarization and synthesis and provide project teams with concise summaries that include evaluation and proposed next steps. Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols. Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Minimum skills and requirements: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field. 4+ years of related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be proficient at writing technical reports that meet project requirements. Able to work independently on individual tasks and manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously. Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software. Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: lift 50 lbs., traverse unstable/sloping sites and landscapes, work outside in a range of weather conditions, and have the stamina for moderate physical activity for the majority of field working hours. Able to travel to work locations that may require overnight stays. Preferred Skills Master's degree in Geology or related field. Professional certification or plan to obtain professional certification, as applicable to the discipline. Experience with developing conceptual site models. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates. MSHA Training. Salary The salary range for this position in Ann Arbor, MI is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
