Job Summary:
Registered Nurse, Psychiatric Unit East St. Louis, IL. The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and coordinates nursing care activities during clients hospitalization in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. This role includes assessment, diagnosis, planning and establishing outcomes, implementation, and evaluation, while maintaining professional accountability for nursing care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights; 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; current Illinois license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) preferred or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., copier, facsimile machine, 10-key); personal computer and printer; familiarity with computer software (MS Office applications and Meditech).
• Additional Information: Professional responsibilities include organizing and directing nursing care functions for clients on the unit, accurately and promptly implementing physicians orders, preparing and administering medications in accordance with policy, documenting care concisely and completely, complying with infection control policies, coordinating and providing emergency care as needed, participating in orientation and in-service training, participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning and revising plans of care based on assessment, and conducting group therapies as assigned. The role also includes maintaining a safe environment and monitoring continuously for harmful contraband, monitoring clients and documenting according to risk precautions, participating in process improvement, supporting confidentiality, privacy, safety, and security, and working in accordance with nursing staffing and scheduling policy.
