Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Psychiatric Geriatric, Psychiatric Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current State License Certifications: BLS Certification required; CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) required Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and coordinates the nursing care activities during the client's hospitalization in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, and establishing outcomes, implementation, and evaluation. Based on this process, the RN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care. The RN maintains professional accountability for all nursing care provided to clients. Demonstrates competency in nursing judgment. Maintains awareness of economic barriers of health care and acts accordingly. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing care needs and treatments for clients across various clinical specialties in compliance with established standards of nursing practice. Will be required to work with clients aged 18 years and older. Essential Functions and Duties: Ability to organize and coordinate nursing care delivery for assigned clients. No performance deficiencies should arise from failure to adapt to new techniques. Demonstrates the ability to direct others in health care delivery. Regular talking and hearing are required. Must be able to stand for 4-6 hours. Provides direct client care activities as needed, adhering to defined departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Requires a concentrated level of attention. Ability to adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus. Position Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current State License. B.S.N. preferred or equivalent years of experience. Demonstrates clinical competence and assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate standard office equipment and personal computer with specific software. Physical Demands: Requires grasping and reaching with hands and arms. Ability to lift up to, but not limited to, 25 pounds when assisting clients. Requires bending, stooping, and walking. Good body mechanics are essential to prevent injury. Complies with all organizational policies and assists in the review and revision of policies. Utilizes appropriate channels of communication. Adjusts interventions based on age-appropriate guidelines as indicated. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities while directing safe client care. Complies with and maintains knowledge of organizational and departmental safety procedures. Contributes to environmental care by maintaining work areas and assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed. Maintains client rights regarding confidentiality, privacy, safety, and security. Adapts easily to changes in work assignments and environment. Accepts working assignments according to client care needs in accordance with job skill level. Performs basic tasks in a timely manner with minimal guidance and supervision. Demonstrates willingness to work toward departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Assists with the development and implementation of unit goals. Conducts group therapies as assigned. Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning and revises plans of care based on assessment. Promotes activities regarding process improvement.
