Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive patient care, supporting mothers through childbirth and postpartum recovery. They collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs through initial and ongoing evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
• Implement therapeutic nursing interventions tailored to labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Document patient progress, clinical interventions, and outcomes in accordance with standards of care.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices, incorporating innovations to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
• Manage patient care activities efficiently, prioritizing safety and comfort for both mother and newborn.
• Support patient education on childbirth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an ASN degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and delivery or related specialty.
• Possess active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Certification in BLS (AHA) and NRP.
• Demonstrate proficiency in labor, antepartum, and newborn education.
• Have current ACLS certification (preferred).
• Maintain strong soft skills, including communication, critical thinking, and compassionate patient advocacy.
