Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking to hire a Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor. The Senior Client Employee Benefits Advisor reports to Legal Practice Support management and the Employee Benefits Practice Group and will work closely with attorneys, Senior Client Employee Benefits Consultants, and clients on all matters relating to firm clients’ employee benefit plans and programs. The position is available in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, Washington, DC or Chicago with a hybrid in‑office/remote working schedule. Key Responsibilities Review statutory, regulatory, and other governmental pronouncements to assess the impact on clients’ employee benefit plans. Prepare and amend employee benefit plans to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and implement plan design changes. Prepare and revise summary plan descriptions and other employee communications. Advise clients on resolving compliance issues and other technical matters in the day‑to‑day administration of their employee benefit plans and programs. Assess the impact of corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.) on clients’ employee benefit plans. Prepare IRS determination letter requests and other governmental filings. Assist the Firm Benefits Department with issues and concerns arising in the administration of the firm’s employee benefit plans. Participate in client pitches and prepare client development materials. Assist in preparation of Employee Benefits Practice Group MLBeneBits blog posts, LawFlashes, and Webcasts. Conduct internal benefit compliance audits of client benefit plans, policies, and practices. Education and Experience BA/BS degree from a four‑year college or university. Minimum five (5) years of experience as a member of a benefits consulting team, client service team, or a law firm team in the employee benefits practice area (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Qualifications & Skills Strong technical proficiency and analytical capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills. Self‑starter with effective project management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast‑paced environment. Experience with budgeting and working collaboratively in team settings. Capable of analyzing complex technical, legal, or financial information and presenting insights to senior stakeholders. Proficient in data analysis, including statistical concepts and quantitative problem‑solving. Technical Proficiency Accounting: Carpe Diem Document Management: Microsoft Office Suite, WorkSite, Legal MacPac, Adobe Acrobat Practice Tools: SuperForm, Relius Research Platforms: LexisNexis, Westlaw, RIA, BNA, CCH Communication Tools: Office Communicator Compensation and Benefits The base salary or hourly wage range will be determined during the interview process and varies by experience, expertise, and market factors. Chicago, IL: $143,000‑$228,800 Washington, DC: $149,300‑$238,775 New York, NY: $155,500‑$248,725 Benefits may include a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits including 401(k) eligibility, paid time off, and parental leave; details will be provided upon offer.
