POSITION: Lead Custodian at Marion Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Over 1 year up to and including 2 years' experience. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Position requires interaction with all levels of staff. Exceptional knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and floor cleaning machinery.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE :Lead Custodian

Maintains the assigned physical facility in an operating condition that allows for the full educational program to function.


REPORTS TO : Custodial Supervisor


EXAMPLE(S) of WORK PERFORMED :

• Performs all work elements of the Custodian position, plus:
• Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of the custodial staff.
• Provides hands on instruction to all assigned custodians in proper cleaning methods and procedures.
• Monitors and controls daily supply usage.
• Performs weekly equipment checks to maintain equipment in good working order.
• Verifies that assigned custodians wear proper uniform.
• Supervises custodial coverage for public functions.
• Checks time cards and reports daily attendance.
• Attends head custodian meetings and communicates building needs to the Manager of Custodial Services.
• Clean areas not cleaned by subordinates.
• Performs other related work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Performs all essential functions of custodian plus prepares written reports for facility and building administrative use.
