Position Summary This position is responsible for providing advanced nutrition care and counseling to a diverse population within a campus health clinic, The individual is responsible for delivering evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team. Overview of Responsibilities Patient Care 90% Provide individualized nutrition therapy to a diverse population of students and the U of MN community. Therapy to include nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention and nutrition monitoring. Collaborate with medical providers and other health care professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment planning. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for clinic staff on nutrition‑related topics. Exercise independent clinical judgment in assessing student needs and developing care plans. Address complex and sensitive nutrition concerns using evidence‑based practices and student‑centered approaches. Refer patients to other clinicians within and outside of Boynton Health when appropriate, to enhance/augment patient care. Schedule patient follow‑ups and return all patient correspondence in a timely manner. Provides educational material to patients relating to their condition or treatment plan. Compliance and Administrative 10% Timely completion of billing services for all procedures and patient diagnosis on behalf of the University of Minnesota. Comply with documentation standards required by government and third party payers. Maintain an active MN Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice license. Completion compliance training, including HIPAA, Employee Right to Know, Medicare training, Active Threat Training and other training as assigned. Attend and participate in department staff meetings, staff retreats, assigned committee meetings and other assigned meetings and training sessions. Participation in Boynton Health's yearly Peer Review process, as assigned. Participation in the Clinic's AAAHC credentialing process, as assigned. Follow all established Boynton Health policies and procedures. Promote a safe, equitable, and respectful environment in which concerns can be addressed effectively. Perform other duties consistent with the job classification and position description. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field. At least 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling 8 years. Current licensure from the Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice. Available to work a flexible schedule Monday through Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM), up to four (4) days a week or about 32 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications Experience in outpatient, campus health, or community health settings. Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Experience working with digital documentation platforms. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment. Physical Requirements Dexterity and Coordination Manual Dexterity: Repetitive typing required for use of medical record system. Repetitive Motions: Frequent reaching, object manipulation and hand movements are common. Sensory and Communication Vision: Adequate acuity for patient observation and reading charts/screens. Hearing: Sufficient hearing for clear communication in person and over the phone. Speaking: Clear verbal communication is essential for instruction and motivation. Safety and Environmental Emergency Response: Candidates must have the motor function to perform life‑saving measures, such as CPR/Basic Life Support, in emergency situations. Exposure: Potential exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, and environment products and cleaners. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $76,544 - $84,064; depending on education/qualifications/experience. Time Appointment: 80%-time or 32 hours per week. Position Type: P&A Staff.
