Education Program Manager

The School and Community Programs Manager is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of The Bass Museum's school and community education programs. Working closely with the Director of Education, this position leads curriculum development for school residencies and outreach programs, cultivates partnerships with schools and community organizations, manages teaching artists, and oversees the day‑to‑day operations of offsite educational initiatives. Success in this role requires balancing creativity with exceptional organization and project management while building meaningful relationships with educators, teaching artists, and community partners. Essential Responsibilities Curriculum Development & Educational Resources Lead the development of inquiry-based curriculum for school residencies, outreach programs, and educator resources. Develop interdisciplinary lesson plans inspired by The Bass's collection, exhibitions, and educational philosophy. Align curriculum with Florida State Standards and adapt lessons for multiple grade levels, diverse learners, English Language Learners, and participants with varying accessibility needs. Collaborate with the Director of Education and teaching artists to pilot, evaluate, and refine curriculum based on participant feedback and program outcomes. Develop educator resources including teacher guides, pre/post-visit materials, and digital learning content. Maintain curriculum resources and stay informed on best practices in museum education and instructional design. School Partnerships & Residency Programs Coordinate and manage The Bass's school residency programs, including STEAM+ and other community-based initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison for participating schools, teachers, and administrators. Coordinate residency schedules, logistics, communication, and implementation. Build and maintain positive working relationships with school partners throughout Miami-Dade County. Collaborate with teachers to ensure programming aligns with classroom goals and student needs. Coordinate student exhibitions and culminating events related to residency programs. Community Partnerships & Outreach Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, libraries, community organizations, and cultural institutions. Coordinate outreach programs and represent The Bass at community events and educational meetings. Collaborate with partners to identify community needs and support public programs, Family Days, and outreach initiatives. Teaching Artist Management Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support teaching artists. Conduct observations and provide coaching to ensure high‑quality program delivery. Train teaching artists in curriculum, inquiry‑based facilitation, classroom management, and The Bass's educational philosophy. Program Administration & Evaluation Maintain annual program calendars, timelines, and implementation schedules. Develop and maintain program documentation, operational procedures, and organizational systems. Track participation data and maintain accurate databases. Collect and organize evaluation data for grant reporting and program improvement. Prepare reports, summaries, and supporting documentation as needed. Maintain inventories of outreach supplies and educational materials. Budget & Grant Administration Monitor program budgets and track expenditures. Prepare purchase requests, invoices, reimbursements, and expense documentation. Assist with grant implementation by ensuring programs meet grant objectives, timelines, and reporting requirements. Coordinate collection of photographs, testimonials, attendance records, and evaluation data required for grants. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's degree in Museum Education, Art Education, Education, Studio Art, Arts Administration, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field. Preferred Education Master's degree in Museum Education, Art Education, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related discipline. Experience Minimum of three years of experience developing and managing educational programs. Experience writing curriculum and lesson plans for K–12 audiences. Experience working in museums, schools, cultural organizations, or nonprofit educational settings. Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Experience supervising teaching artists, educators, interns, or volunteers preferred. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends, travel locally throughout Miami-Dade County, and successfully complete a Level II background screening. Knowledge of inquiry‑based learning, contemporary art, and museum education practices. Strong organizational, project management, and relationship‑building abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Spanish proficiency.
