Press Brake Operator (2nd shift)SummaryThe Press Brake Operator II is responsible for the independent setup, programming, operation, and quality verification of hydraulic press brakes used to manufacture components for hospital patient care assemblies. This position requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate tooling, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain quality standards while meeting production requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Gather, verify, and organize materials required for production.
• Review work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications prior to setup and production.
• Independently set up and operate hydraulic press brakes for a variety of part configurations and material types.
• Create, modify, and optimize press brake programs to ensure efficient production and quality output.
• Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine parameters based on part specifications and material requirements.
• Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Produce first-article parts and perform dimensional inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections and verify parts at established intervals to ensure continued compliance with quality standards.
• Manufacture required quantities while maintaining production efficiency and quality expectations.
• Inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy, burrs, edge quality, and overall workmanship.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Complete all required production records, inspection documents, and Press Brake Logs accurately and completely.
• Notify the Lead or Supervisor of quality concerns, material shortages, equipment issues, or production delays.
• Train and assist Press Brake Operator I personnel with machine operation, setup techniques, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Understand and follow exposure prevention, hazard recognition, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including adherence to end-of-shift procedures.
• Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes, tooling, work instructions, and product designs.
• Follow all procedures and work instructions as documented by the Quality Management System.
• Report and document quality issues related to products, processes, or procedures to Supervisors or Quality personnel.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach in all activities to support product quality and customer satisfaction.

Prerequisites and Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Press Brake Safety Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of press brake operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently set up and program hydraulic press brakes.
• Strong understanding of press brake tooling, die selection, bend allowances, and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, angle gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and production planning abilities.
• Ability to train and mentor less experienced operators.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, production tracking, and program management.

Physical DemandsThis position requires an individual in good physical condition who can meet the following requirements:

• Work in a typical non-air-conditioned manufacturing, shop, or warehouse environment.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and grasping.
• Stand and walk for the majority of the work shift.
• Frequently handle metal parts, tooling, and materials.
• Maintain visual acuity necessary to inspect parts, read blueprints, and perform quality checks.

Temp-to-hire opportunity, and the pay is $18.00 and up, DOE1st Shift - 2nd Shift - M-TH - 2 PM - 12:30 AM#ZR
