Senior Project Buyer - Solar

SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Project Buyer – Solar that will develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers. Location: Minneapolis, MNRESPONSIBILITIESPurchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factorsPropose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final actionArrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliersTrack order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teamsFacilitate and run meetings internally and externally Enter purchase agreements and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basisEnter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basisVisit job sites or offices annually at a minimum to develop more effective working relationshipsEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsAll other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipling or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience4+ years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar roleKnowledge of construction processes, equipment, and materials, purchasing processes, and procedures (preferred)Project Management experience (preferred)Understanding of the construction industry (preferred)Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skillsStrong customer service and analytical skillsActive listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackSoftware experienceCurrent driver's licenseA few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage  Dental plan  401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves  Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance  No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources Tuition reimbursement  Adoption Assistance   Gym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is$85,300 - $128,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
