Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night (3x12 hours) and Day (3x12 hours) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Active, unrestricted RN License or valid compact license Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) - Required ACLS - Required Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring - Required NRP - Required AWHONN Advanced - Required Must-Have: Current Advanced or Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course completed within the last 2 years Ability to perform functions including triage, labor, circulating OB cases, PACU, transition newborn, and postpartum couplet care Description: The Registered Nurse will care for patients in labor and delivery. Responsibilities include conducting triage and managing labor. The nurse will circulate OB cases and provide postpartum couplet care. Must be skilled in transitions for newborns, as well as PACU care. AWHONN Advanced certification is required, and this certification must not be done online. The RN may also be involved in circulating for C-sections. This position requires the ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days. There is an expectation for weekend shifts as needed. Floating within the department may be required, based on staffing needs. Candidates must be comfortable with potential on-call duties, averaging 1-3 shifts per 8-week schedule. The facility operates with an average census of 70-100 patients daily. Team members will provide care for neonates, infants, and adults. A diverse patient population includes high-risk obstetrical patients. Candidates must have a strong background in labor and delivery nursing. Flexibility to adapt to varying patient care needs is essential. Two professional references will be required prior to the start of the position.
