As one of the first points of contact for our patients, the PSR plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience while helping keep the office organized and running efficiently.ResponsibilitiesGreet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experienceAnswer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and appointment needsSchedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointmentsCheck patients in and out accurately and efficientlyCollect patient payments, copays, and outstanding balancesVerify and update patient demographic and insurance informationAssist with insurance eligibility and benefit verificationMaintain accurate patient records and documentationMonitor the schedule and communicate changes or concerns to the appropriate team membersHelp fill openings and maintain a productive patient scheduleCommunicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, dental assistants, and other front-office team membersRespond to patient questions and concerns professionally and courteouslyFollow established office policies and proceduresAssist with other administrative and front-office responsibilities as neededRequirementsPrevious dental or medical front-office experience preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsProfessional and friendly phone etiquetteComfortable handling payments and discussing patient account balancesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to multitask and remain organized in a busy office environmentComfortable working with computers, scheduling systems, and electronic patient recordsExperience with Dentrix is a plusDependable, punctual, and team-oriented
