Facilities Engineer

Facilities EngineerCorning is seeking a mid-level Facilities Engineer to join our team at our location in Fairport, NY. The candidate will support installation of new equipment as well as operation, maintenance and optimization of existing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience or exposure to facilities systems including but not limited to Compressed Air, Vacuum, Process Gases, Chillers, Cleanrooms, HVAC and Controls (BAS / BMS). We are seeking a candidate who has a broad engineering skillset and with a strong hands-on aptitude.Day to Day Responsibilities:Deliver strong project leadership skills through the project initiation, planning, implementation and closeout phases.Develop project concepts, scopes, estimates, schedules, design, installation & startup documentation.Exercise good judgment, sound engineering principles and utilize structured problem-solving techniques.Lead, guide, coach & help develop internal Corning & contingent employees as well as external contractors.Procurement – Assemble RFQ's, bids, and solicit quotes from suppliers and contractors. Procure goods and services through internal procurement buyers and systems.Contractor Management – work with and manage external contractors to maintain and install facilities systems and equipment. Manage contractor work via direct supervision including siteRequired Qualifications:BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering / Engineering Technology or similar3+ years of engineering & professional work experienceConstruction and facility system experience (HVAC, Chillers, Compressed Air, Vacuum, Controls, etc.)Excellent project leadership, engineering, installation and start-up skillsAble to trouble shoot, solve problems & engage others for additional support if neededProblem solving skills leveraging structured methodExcellent communication, social & soft skillsExcellent presentation skillsProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Desired Skills:Proficient in AutoCad, Solidworks, or similar CAD softwareBuilding Automation System Experience (Allen Bradley SCADA, Siemens, Trane, etc.)Experience with MS Project & SharePointExperience with Lean Construction techniquesExperience in optical manufacturingExperience with CNC equipmentProject estimating, forecasting and scheduling experienceTravel Requirements: Travel requirement < 10% Most travel is limited to immediate surrounding areaHours of Work/Work Schedule/Flextime: Normal Business Hours (8 – 5, M – F): however, expected to work hours required to achieve objectives Flexibility is required Includes overtime, weekend and off-shift hours.This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $81,602.00 - $112,204.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
